The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case of Christian web designer Lorie Smith who is challenging a Colorado state law requiring her to create wedding websites for same-sex couples if she also offers similar services for other couples. The Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative legal group representing Smith and her company, 303 Creative, praised the court's decision to hear an appeal, stating, "This could be a landmark case for religious liberty and artistic freedom."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released a formal opinion Friday concluding that performing certain gender reassignment procedures on children constitutes child abuse under state law. Opinion No. KP-0401 also noted the "obvious harm of permanently sterilizing a child" and stated that "medical evidence does not demonstrate that children and adolescents benefit from engaging in these irreversible sterilization procedures."
Southern Baptist Convention President Ed Litton says the Sexual Abuse Task Force’s “work is progressing” on the sexual abuse investigations that are currently underway. Litton praised the Executive Committee staff for their cooperation and advised the convention to remain “very sober” and “determined” as the investigation continues.

A New York Times report raising questions about the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s handling of COVID-19 pandemic guidance and information has the agency again facing criticism over its handling of information that has been withheld or experienced delays in release to the public. A spokesperson for the CDC told the New York Times the information “wasn’t ready for primetime.” Political analyst Nathan Gonzalez told CBN News, “Now that we're two years into the pandemic and we get this story from The New York Times it just creates even more distrust.” Continue reading.
Legal observers continue to debate Special Counsel John Durham’s report, which accuses a tech executive of exploiting access to White House data in the hopes of finding incriminating information about Donald Trump. While many conservatives say the report is a “bombshell” revelation that proves former President Donald Trump was spied on as the Hillary Clinton campaign lied about its involvement, opponents continue to argue against the allegations made in the report. Republicans have also criticized the limited airtime certain media outlets have given to the story, with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) asserting, “If this was the other way, about how the Trump campaign hired data experts and others to go out and do this to a President Clinton. We wouldn't be able to talk about anything else around here.” Continue reading.

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, who led the event, said, “The pro-life movement has always been about supporting these women. We want these women to know that they do not have to face this on their own.” Resource centers across the country are continually in need of support---from items such as clothing, diapers, and formula to medical services and education resources.
